PUP for Filipinos

“Tunay. Palaban. Makabayan.”

A line that has been a trademark of the PUP nation.

A shout out that every true-blooded Pupian voices out for.

The Polytechnic University of the Philippines has already been on its 105 years of giving affordable and quality education for the Filipinos. It is one of the state universities, or should I say the only state university, to maintain its lowest tuition fee.

Being in a third-world country, (Sadly that’s where they group the Philippines but I don't believe that. Our nation is blessed and is a blessing!), how important is a university like PUP for the Filipinos in our society? We need not to research the percentage of the poor or in low-class families; because I know that every one of us has enough knowledge on this. That big percentage doesn’t lessen in over hundreds of years; but still increases.

Up to now, the price of education is really hard to pay for. But how about the twelve pesos per unit fee that PUP is offering us!? Goodness, that’s exceptional! Everybody longs for an education that is equitable, qualitative and most of all, inexpensive! It’s like you don’t have any reasons not to study at all, if it’s because of the bad financial crisis that your family is going through.

Miserably, in that span of time, the budget for education has always been the biggest problem of the beloved university. The rightful budget that is supposed to be given by the government for the school is always on a static hope. Students started to speak for their rights, through endless rallies and walkouts.

The activists. PUP became the home of activists. These activists are always all-out and never there’d been a time to cease. Maybe, some of us are tired of them, rather of those acts; because of the deaf government. Uh-oh! No, it’s just a slow-moving one. Isn't it?

But by now, I can see the progress of the entirety of the university body. The worn out facilities are being fixed, just as for the said “quality education”, because it really helps for the betterment of the duration of classes; less bugging conditions and complaints.

PUP is one in a million. It is a must-have, not only for the Philippine society; but for every person in this world to have a fair education. But look, how blessed we are! For it is exclusive for us Filipinos.

Most of us are sick of activism, but when will we came to realize that this is a real battle?

PUP fights for what we deserve!

we should be proud to be a part of this institution, it requires sacrifice, sweat and blood to study at PUP, PUPians reflects the real situation of the society,

yes, what should we expect in a third world country like our beloved Philippines?

But the change is still in the hands of not only the students but also those HARDWORKING and dedicated educators!

ikaw, ako, sila, sa pamamagitan ng edukasyon, matatanaw natin ang tunay na kalagayan ng bayan, alamin ang problema, at abutin ang solusyon, edukasyon ang susi!
